Hi , If you've just recently booked your table at the Oxford Indie Book Fair, then a huge welcome to you and the weekly exhibitor's blog. This goes out every Monday - okay, it's Tuesday, but you'd never believe how much work there is in organising one of the biggest Indie Book Fairs in the country! If you want to look back on previous editions then head on over to the EXHIBITOR CENTRE page and click on the link at the left of the page (scroll down a bit).

BE SEEN
While I'm here, I'd like to remind everyone to please fill in their profile - there are plenty who havent. You're missing out on being seen on the Exhibitor Directory! Just go to the website, click on or hover your mouse over "For Exhibitors" at the top of the page, then click on "My Profile / Login" use your email address to log in. If you can't remember your password then click the link to reset it. Click on "Exhibitor Profile" to edit. If you want your information to appear for all to see on the directory AND in the printed brochure that we're producing, then you'll need to complete this now.
Some reasons why your profile isn't appearing:
|
|
|
- Incomplete profile text. It won't show your profile if it's blank.
- No categories selected in the tick box section. You need to select at least one.
- You didn't tick the box at the bottom of the form to turn your profile on.

WHAT TO DO ON THE DAY
Be sure to study the venue rules and what to do on the day in the Exhibitors centre. There are some important rules to adhere to regarding electrical equipment, and not sticking things to the walls etc.

ADVERTISING
If you'd like to book an advert on the GIANT screens then go to the homepage and click on the big orange button… or the one below. For just £25 you can get your book up on the massive screens on a loop all day long as well as on the website until the summertime. Plenty have done so already, so don't miss out.

MORE ADVERTISING
Our advertising campaign for the book fair is in full swing with about 35,000 impressions on our Facebook AD so far. This week we ramped up the AD spend to QUADRUPLE the amount on Facebook and 20,000 leaflets are ready to roll out to households in Oxford. We're committed to spending thousands this year on advertising, which we can only do because we're a not for profit organisation. ALL the money is spent on the book fair. Next week, we will be putting up 8 huge banners all around town so that there will be no excuse to not know about the fair. On the day, our troop of helpers will be out in force in town with colourful backpack flags handing out leaflets and dragging people in off the street.

WE NEED YOUR HELP - NOW
Okay, you might not have thousands to spend on promotion but you CAN post on your social media about the book fair. Download some graphics for popular platforms from the exhibitor centre and start making a noise. We want as many people to come buy your books as possible and by tweeting, instagramming, facebooking… anything you can, then we'll have a gigantic crowd. Don't leave it up to the next guy, we're all in this together. Why not do what Rebecca Mileham (@r_mileham) has done on twitter and copy their profile card from the website and post it on Twitter - well done Rebecca! Remember, if you tag us @oxindiebookfair then we'll like, follow and share your posts.
