We're a week closer to the BIGGEST EVER Oxford Indie Book Fair on December 1st. If you're newly subscribed to the newsletter, then welcome on board. You can read last week's edition on the website under the NEWS link to catch up.

I mentioned that I'd be talking about what we have on offer for kids at the Book Fair this week, but I think I'd like to give the exhibitors a little more time to finish setting up their profiles and checking the category boxes before I do that, there's a whole (what's the collective noun for writers? *) of new ones just joined us. We are well over the 100 mark now for fully signed up exhibitors from far and wide - not just Oxford, so it's absolutely going to be an amazing event with all kinds of interesting things to see and do.

This week, let's look at what's happening on the day in a little more detail.

ON THE DAY

To start the day off, the whole event is going to be opened by our celebrity guest Paterson Joseph. He's an actor of stage and screen as well as being the chancellor of Oxford Brookes University. In fact, I've just taken a look at his IMDB page and noticed a cool animated series on Netflix that he's in which I have on my watch-list… guess that's my weekend viewing sorted then!
We've got a great relationship with Brookes, and are delighted to again welcome a new batch of student helpers to the Book Fair to help things run smoothly. Look out for them in their branded hi-vis jackets and say hi when you see them.

For a full run-down of the events and talks on the stage and around the venue, click on the What's On link at the top of the website. Without giving too much away, you'll see that we've got a whole programme of activities for those little book worms from noon right up until closing time. I can't say I've seen THAT at the London Book Fair.

Of course, the Book fair isn't just a great place to come and buy books. If you're an author whether you're already published, hoping to get published or working on your masterpiece, the Book Fair is the perfect place to come for inspiration and to get you well onto the road to selling your own books.
There are a number of publishers at the fair who would be delighted to talk with you about your book as well as publishing services companies (I think it's only fair that I mention my own company Oxford eBooks here), who can help you get that book finished and on the shelves… or screens.
We also have printers exhibiting for those that are already established. Holywell Press are a long-time friend of the book fair and have supported us with printed materials for years.

ON THE BUSSES

We've just had a listing placed on the Oxford Bus Company's "Things To Do" guide. Given the notorious roads and parking in and around Oxford, I'd certainly recommend giving the bus and park and rides a thought when planning your trip to the Book Fair.
